Booth at Energy 2011 Conference! ICF Marbek is excited to participate in this year’s Energy 2011 Conference in Ontario, Canada, where industry leaders will discuss how to increase visibility across the Canadian energy landscape. ICF Marbek experts will be available to discuss sustainability strategies and industrial energy services. For this event, Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) in partnership with The Canadian Industrial Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC), bring together the country’s leading energy experts, industry leaders, and energy efficiency suppliers to share best practices and to explore new frontiers in industrial energy efficiency.
Please stop by booth #201 for a chance to benefit from a $400 charitable donation to the Trans Canada Trail, nonprofit organization that supports the development and use of a national network that links millions of Canadians from coast to coast. The winner will have the opportunity to inscribe a special message on the Trail Pavilion of their choice and will receive a personalized trail certificate.
ICF Marbek Contributes to National Policy Research on Climate Change! ICF Marbek made substantial contributions to the recently released report by the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE), Paying the Price: The Economic Impacts of Climate Change for Canada. ICF Marbek undertook studies for the NRTEE in two sectors: timber supply and human health.
Each study investigated the costs of climate change impacts under varying socio-economic and climate scenarios. Cost-benefit analyses were carried out for various adaptation options aimed at offsetting the economic impacts of climate change for each sector. Results of this work served as key foundation for the NRTEE report.
ICF International Acquires Marbek! On January 5, 2011, ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI), a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, announced the acquisition of Marbek. The acquisition creates Canada’s leading fully integrated energy, climate, and environmental consultancy specializing in energy efficiency and renewable energy programs.
Sponsored Energy 2009 conference! ICF Marbek sponsored the Energy 2009 — Canada’s foremost industrial energy-efficiency conference on November 24-25, 2009, hosted by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) and the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME). We were also associated with three conference presentations on New Brunswick’s large industrial energy-efficiency program, Ontario industrial energy benchmarking, and mine water geothermal systems.
Industrial energy-efficiency program best-in-class! ICF Marbek’s design and delivery support of New Brunswick’s Large Industrial Energy-Efficiency Program has exceeded expectations. The program, now in its second of four years, has surpassed its overall participation targets and is well on its way to achieving its annual energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets of 1,000 terajoules and 200 kilotonnes, respectively.
